Get involved and get moving with Parkinson’s. There are many studies showing the benefits of social interaction and movement in Parkinson’s. Do not become a recluse in your own home – this is not beneficial.
- Come to a Support Group in your area and meet other people.
- Listen to the various speakers and learn more about managing your Parkinson’s.
- Join an activity group. There are many available that are beneficial – dance, tai-chi, singing, PD Warrior etc.
Find out from the group what is available in your area. Social outings with the group are also arranged from time to time.
Read the Parkinson’s Journal to find out what is on and when. If you have been planning a trip and now because of Parkinson’s you feel you won’t be able to do it. Then go ahead and do it – take life by the throat and go for it – remember you are ‘living with Parkinson’s’ and are in control. Don’t let Parkinson’s control you.
